Finding your feet in her first role, Lucy Sedgwick shares what life is like as a Global Brand Assistant.
Lucy Sedgwick – Global Brand Assistant – Botanics, Boots
Having worked for lots of brands whilst she was at university and after completing work experience and internships in the beauty industry, Lucy Sedgwick knew she wanted to start her career in brand management.
The fast-paced role for Boots covers everything from looking after the brand essentials, supporting with product development, collating performance data and working on projects to deliver sustainability information to customers via the products she works on.
Lucy sees her role as being partly responsible for bringing the brand to life for the people who are buying Botanics products and for a brand that has been around since 1995 innovating is at the heart of everything they do.
With a fantastic manager and supportive team, Lucy is learning the ropes of brand management, understanding what is important for customers and how to deliver this back to them through their products and experiences.
She credits her determination to work in brand management with lots of work experience, in her mind this is one of the most important things you can do. It helps you work out what you like, what you don’t like and what different roles actually involve, as well as giving an insight into what work is really like!
