Future Stores at the Heart of the Community
Megan Kemp runs a store of the future and is putting the community at the centre of it.
Megan Kemp – Assistant Store Manager, Boots
For Megan Kemp retail is not just about what happens in-store, it’s much more than that! In her six years at Boots she has undertaken every bit of training that has been on offer, learnt to lead a team, helped with the opening of the firs of Boots ‘Stores of the Future’ and has still found time to support her community through charity initiatives.
Megan is both driven and passionate about the work that she does, her day to day role at Boots in Knightsbridge sees her leading the pharmacy, healthcare and beauty teams whilst also managing to undertake a development programme to get her ready to be a store manager. We wanted to know how Megan finds time to do all this, for her this was easy; being well organised and planning your day! Not only does Megan have a busy work life she is also a mum of two and has trained as a Macmillan Beauty Adviser.
With her Macmillan work, she supports ladies going through cancer treatment providing beauty advice. Megan knows this helps them to feel a little bit better about themselves in a tough and challenging period of their lives.
Megan is really enthusiastic about the future with Boots, she is working in a pioneering ‘Store of the Future’ and managing new roles within the business. Her advice to anyone looking for a career in retail management is to bring your personality and enthusiasm and do every bit of training that you can!
